There is a speed trap on.

highway 24, from Walnut Creek to Oakland and vice versa. I already saw a bunch of cars pulled over on my way to work this morning. Just thought I'd let everyone know and to remind everyone to drive safely out there.

Missed it at 7:00. This stretch is rarely targeted. Prob about time they got around to 24. It seems much more of this is done in the West Bay ?? (101, etc). I did see Hwy 4 trapped from Martinez to Richmond 2 wks ago. Glad it got my multi band RD, but no guarantee with Lidar out there lurking.

Which Highway was it that had a fatal accident involving a drunken driver and a man changing his flat? I heard it on the news Sunday, but forgot which highway it was on. They talked about cracking down on speeders on that highway.

I got my first ticket ever 2 weeks ago from a cop hiding behind his bike and shooting lidar on 580, and I was carefully flowing with traffic. I've never ever seen a cop on 24 and treated it like a playground, so I guess I'll have to be more careful when heading to WC in the future.

We should make posts on here to keep everyone updated on where the speed traps are each day. I know CHPs are using helicopters too so watch out for them.

^..good point Why don't you start a "Speed Trap and Crackdowns" thread in the Norcal section & have it stickied. Many people will add to that also then.

man, I use to commute from SF to Pleasant Hill everyday, and I can see why they would have a speed trap set up there. It was so easy to pick up speed as soon as you exited the tunnel. Before I knew it, I would end up close to triple digits on my bike. Also, seems like everyone commuting through there would speed like crazy!

South bound 880, around the on/off ramp of Dixon landing, just where it becomes four lanes, once a while I'll see CHP on bikes under the overpass.

There is a big crackdown on speeders in SF Golden Gate Park. When your going from Park Presidio to 19th Ave, 2 cops in the bushes with LIDAR, right after the first blind turn, then at the next intersection, 2 bikes and a cruiser picking them off. This has been going on for a few weeks now.
