Hey guys, I am looking at buying a 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT in black. I would prefer no navigation or rear spoiler. I have been looking for months but can't find a black one for sale. I have tried autotrader and craigslist. Frontier Infiniti has a 05 6MT with navi but the best they can do is 36,300 OTD which is more than I want to spend, especially on a feature I don't want (navi).

The first thing you need to do is not look at the dealership for the car, they price the used 05's as if they're brand new '07's! Also, as nice of a color that black is, you're going to be hard pressed to find one whose paint is in excellent condition. I'm sure you know how much effort it takes to keep a black car clean, and how very few people put in that kind of effort. It may be worthwhile to look at a different colored car.


If you'd consider a different color combo, Diamond Graphite on Black, a well known member of the boards is selling his MINT 2005 6MT coupe with premium, sport (no spoiler), and Pioneer Avic D2 navi installed in a JDM DD kit for a completely stock look. He's asking $28,500 with 28,000 miles...

^^^ thanks for the response.... The dealer is actually my last choice. I am starting to get desperate. I see used G's for $28-$30K and dealers start at $32k. All bad.

I have had black cars in the past so I already know whats up with those. And believe me, I have seen that DG for a while already. DG just doesn't do it for me.

 

Well there's always Pearl White... if you want another rare color.

 

Get black!! You'll love it. I love mine. 2006 Coupe 6MT. However again finding a used one with the paint still nice and perty is going to be hard. My car is one year old and front bumper is already decorated with lots of rock chips. I just really started to notice it recently. Makes me wanna cry. Should've bought a clear bra. So if you get one, get a clear bra right away. Now I'm going to eventually have to get a paint job. Oh yes black is very very hard to keep, but when its niced and buffed it is yummy!!!

Just to add. My coupe is one year old and yesterday I hit 30K miles.
Jesus!!! This daily commute from san francisco to palo alto and back and then to my gf's house in walnut creek is killing me over here. ~120 miles per day. I need to get a Prius. Also that drive from CA to NY and back didnt help either. Sighhhh

 

UPDATE: I am going to check out an 05 on Sunday. Exact setup I want:

-Black/Graphite
-6MT
-No rear spoiler
-No navi

Hopefully everything turns out good. Dude is honest and says front bumper has rock chips and OEM 19's have curb rashes, but I plan to get new wheels down the line anyways. If I pick it up, I will be sure to make it out to the local meets.

 

UPDATE: I purchased the car.

2005 G35 6MT Black/Graphite

$30,900 OTD from Infiniti of Elk Grove. The previous owner ended up "selling" his car to the dealer and they sold it to me for the same price plus tax and fees. He had to pay about $200 in doc fees, etc. I ended up getting the car for about $28,000 before tax.

I hope to make it out to local meets sometime. Look for a 05 with a lot of rockchips on the front...lol.
