Unfortunately, unless someone else steps up to the plate to organize this event . . . There will be no more organized Santa Cruz runs.

There are many logistics involved for the organizers. Especially, when you consider that the last SC run had some 80 or so cars in attendance.

Why not put a cap on it?

I think you did a fine job last year with assigning group leaders and leaving in 5 minute intervals. If not you, I hope a senior member steps up to the plate.

We were struggling with that idea for while. To put a cap on an “open” meet it sends out wrong messages about us or whoever is the organizer.

Look at it this way, should there be an cap on this event, with limited spaces and of course we want to make every effort to ensure all the G could attend, then no Z should be allow to attend. It definitely sends out wrong signal, especially to the people whom aren't involve in the decision making process, it would seems like we arent friendly towards Zs and other car enthusiasts, you might agree its not an wise decision to put a cap on this event.

Have you seen Dew lately? last year Dew did an great job with the Z group, we could use his help again this year.

Wanna do it again? lets make this event happen this year, what you say?

We can make it simple, from parking lot to parking lot and thats yet, people can find their own place for lunch. Would need 4~6 group leaders, who wants to?

Shane, I really admire your wisdom. The things you say never fail to marvel me. Very well said and truth be told. I do look forward to SC 2009 and will offer all the help I can.

Let me know if you need a group leader or help.
I'm moving mid June but I'll find a way to make it work if it happens around that time

Good point.

I haven't seen Dew in a very long time... Im sure he is around, just not at any of the meets I've attended.

Anyway to change the final stop's parking? Im not a big fan of the mountain size speed bumps.

If okay, I would like to help as a Z group leader. Im sure I can drag Ed (sid67jp) to help like last year.

He had us try to meet up with him in a 15 minute window. It normally takes about 20-30 minutes to do the drive at 80mph from where we were coming from. I kept getting texts from him as I was trying to keep up with everyone.

Next time we'll pad the time a bit....
