Saw a crazy high speed chase and the Cops lost
 

I was driving down I-680 today, by Mission Ave @ about ~85 and this biker passed me doing probably 90ish, when my Escort radar jumps to full Ka band. I slow the fre@k down, but the biker has way too much speed to slow down in enough time and the cop pegs him. I was like wheeww, better him than me. Next thing you know the cops starts pursuit of the biker. The biker realizes he is pegged and start flying. The biker already has about 150-200m on him. So I am interested, so I attempt to keep up to see what is going to happen. Well let me tell you the biker was not planning on being stopped today. He was well in the 100s. The cop is swerving across lanes, driving on the shoulder, actually making the road a more dangerous place to drive. I mean I understand the cop wants to catch him, but at the expenses of the other drivers on the road? Anyways in the end the cop failed miserably, the biker was to quick and agile for the "police intercepter". I thought you only saw this stuff on cops or on the OJ Simpson tape.

To be honest.. any sport bike with skills can outrun the intercreptor...but there aren't too many people who would want to risk their lives for a speeding ticket...

At some point the police should discern to call off the chase. No sense in making matters worst by potentially putting other motorists at risk.

The LE have other options to exercise. However, sometimes . . . You just have to know when to call it a day . . . And that goes both ways. ;)

yeah alot of my biker friends do that too, but imo i dont think its worth dying so i dont.

cars can do it too. my buddy at exact motorsport had a tt supra and was going down i think i was 5 going at 140 and got targeted by a chp and he ran and got away till he pulled into a gas station and one of his fuel lines started to leak and caught fire hahhahaa, the cop caught up and let me tell you he wasnt happy ahhahaahha i think his ticket was up in the thousands

One time I witnessed a police chase on Mission St. in Daly City right in front of Jefferson High School. I kid you not, the vehicle in pursuit was doing speeds in excess of 70MPH on city streets. They caught him about a mile down.

was it a white integra? lol cause my friend ran from them too, well not ran he didnt want to stop there or something

You really shouldn't criticize the police for attempting to do their job when you were'nt exactly being safe.

Would have been hilarious (to me) if he gave up on the bike and ticketed the G that had been following him the whole chase :)

I understand that cops are protect and serve but they too, should consider the safety of people around them. I saw couple times when these cops cars ran down the local street like 60mph while the post limit was like 45.

A g35 could outrun an interceptor, with ease.

Do you know the circumstances behind those incidents? Probably not. Mere seconds could mean the difference between life and death.

People are quick to criticize, but if it was your life or the life of a loved one that depended on a quick response you wouldn't give two sh*ts if they were going 15 MPH over the speed limit.:rolleyes:

I agree with you Eloy.. even though I've gotten my fair share of tickets by chp and fpd, not too happy about it... I could outrun a cop if I wanted to on my bike, I just choose not to try to kill myself. I f'd up, i'll take the speeding ticket, ehh oh well right? That's what ticket assassin is for ;)

Andy: I've talked to a few LEO's and they just tell me after a certain speed it's not worth it to them, they have families to go home to.

Not the radio. Bikes might be able to be cause they can get so far ahead of the cops so quickly and easily turn off into an unknown side street.

However, I know in Nevada they don't even attempt to pursue bikes. They feel the risks of the pursuit far exceed that of the rewards.

I was not swerving in and out of lanes. I just picked up some speed to see if the biker was planning to slow down. I was in one open lane and the road was straight so you could see what was happening for at least a mile down. Once traffic picked up and the cop started doing his crazy dance threw traffic I continued on my way. I did not partake in any dangerous activities unless you consider driving over 65mph an extremely dangerous event. Also I didnt critize the police at all. I just stated that he was driving extremely recklessly to catch this biker. You would have had to see it to understand, he was a bit overboard, but this was probably the most exciting event that has happened for him for awhile.
