some A$$HOLE stole my license plates.
i had my license plate stolen at the BART station a few months back. filed a report with the BART police. had to go to the DMV and pay for new plates. grrrr. problem was they didn't send me my registration renewal (didn't know if the change in plate number had anything to do with it) so i got pulled over for expired registration. luckily the cop let me go and i got the registration thing done that same day. it's a PITA when someone screws with you like that. they even took my UC Berkeley alumni frame too =(

Sorry to hear about your plates...that sux.
Just an FYI:
Keep all your paper work about your plates being stolen. Those plates will still be connected to your name and current registered address for 7 years (according to the DMV). I know this from personal experience. I got a letter from an insurance co 5 yrs after I reported mine saying I was involved in a hit and run. Showed my paperwork proving it wasn't me with those plate numbers. No further action taken against me.
