Indy 300

I got two free tickets for the Indy 300 at Infineon Raceway this coming Saturday. Since I'm not into F1 racing I want to know if this is a "big" race. Some one told me that Danica Patrick and other big name drivers will be there. Anyone know? And will any of you guys be there?

Thanks.

I went last year for the Saturday qualifing and had a good time. The IRL cars eat up that track. All the big names are there. The Rolex grand prix cars race as well-Porsche's, BMW's, GTO's and such. They will also race the Protype cars. Saturday was good-not crowded, roam all over the track and see the cars from different vantage points. If you can, pay an additional $20.00 to get a pit pass. Allows you to get up and close. Will be there!

The thing I got in the mail says that if I'm one of the first 1,500 at the Team Penske tent I'll get a "Paddock Pass" which gets me access to the infield and garage area. I'm assuming that's just for Team Penske since they're the ones giving me the tickets.

A Pit Pass would be badass. I'd pay $20 for that. I want to drool over the cars.

Thanks for the info, GISMO35. If you have any other tips like what time I should get there and where to sit and stuff, I'd appreciate it.

I think the "Paddock Pass" is the same as a pit pass. I recommend that you roam around a bit to find the spot on the track you like best, many good vantage points. Practice starts at 8:15 for the Rolex. Here is the schedule: http://www.infineonraceway.com/sched...vent_schedule/
