Best wishes for a speedy recovery Andy. Hot tea definitely helps, and if you can, force yourself to eat a piece of bread.

I just talked to my doc. He said a small amount of bread is fine although tea is not since it contains a caffeine.
These items need to be avoided at this time:
carbohydrates, lactose products, soft drinks and caffeine.
