Big thumbs up to JOEY at SIMPLE IMAGE AUTO BODY.

I just wanted to recommend this bodyshop to anyone who is looking for a good shop for bodykits or body repairs. I initially had my M3 VCSL parts done at another shop and was very unhappy with the way things turned out over and over and over and over again. It just dragged on and in the end it still came out with WAY too many imperfections which all seem to have excuses. I'll just leave it at that regarding that particular shop. I kept my cool throughout the process about it but in the end I just wasn't happy. It came to a point where I just wanted my **** back because I was fed up with it taking SO long. I'd say it was around 2 months for something that shouldn't have taken longer than 2 weeks.

On to the good news...

Anyways, I took my car to SIMPLE IMAGE in Santa Clara to get my rear fenders rolled and to check out their shop. I talked to the owner JOEY and he's a cool guy that seemed like he knew what he was doing so I decided to give him a shot to redo all of my parts. The paintmatch is OUTSTANDING, the quality of work and service was exceptional. It was refreshing to see such attention to detail. The work was done by the owner himself which was very impressive. I was so impressed that I have no doubt that I'm having them do my carbon fiber roof conversion AND any other future mods that require painting or bodywork. I'll admit that I am pretty exacting when it comes to cars but I try to be slightly less exacting when it comes to mods because it's just one of those things that can NEVER be perfect as with any other type of non-OEM upgrades. But as long as I've been modding, this is THE ONLY shop who has come so close where I would say it's perfect and now I can say that I am satisfied which is why I took the time to recommend them. I don't work for them and I don't get anything from them. I am just another satisfied customer.

Good stuff, do they apply 3M Invisi-shields whatever they are called as well?

He doesn't do clearbra himself but I think he has someone come in and do it if necessary. I'm getting my bumper clearbra'd by Jeremy from Invisiguard. He's very good and uses 3M.

 

I'll have a full photoshoot soon. Just waiting for my new wheels...

On a side note, I was surprised to see your name as threadstarter for another body shop but I understand about your situation.

 

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm getting some body parts in soon and was going to check out Williams Auto Body in San Mateo based on someone else's recommendation and the fact that they're pretty close to my work. But this place is closer to my home and might work out better. How did the pricing turn out?

 

Yeah, that was just a big waste of time, money and headaches.

 

Pricing is GREAT. Since my parts were messed up from the first shop it was actually MORE work for him to correct their mistakes but he did not charge me more for that.
