Judging by the pictures, it looks like you guys didn't remove the bolts from under the bumper. Is that the "trick" to taking out/putting in the headlights? I've been laggin on my headlight install cause I hate jacking up the G. If I could bypass that step it'd actually make me want to get out of bed early on the weekend to do the install.

you dont have to remove the bumper, you just need to pull it forward.

3 clips on each side on the inner fender wall + all the top clips holding the grille & bumper on (under the hood) +2 screws on each inside side of the bumper (under the side markers). Pull forward and push down slightly.....start removing the headlights.

Here is a DIY write up for a sedan but if I remember correctly, its identical.
