the registration info is crazy strict about it and says 1/8 more than once

some people always come with 1/2 tank or so then take it to the freeway at high speeds tryin to burn gas

At least under a 1/4 should be good, you don't need to come in with your gaslight on but definitely not over a 1/4 tank.

Yeah we try to get the fuel thing right at the pitstop on the way up. I've only needed to burn off fuel once which was the AZ show. Wasn't thinking about the distance we had left when we stopped for gas.
