G35 CD cleaning disk

Hi everyone-
Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to you all the G-drivers.
Quick question, do you bring to the dealer to clean your CD player or you would do it yourself? If you do it yourself then what's brand is good for our G CD player? any feed back would greatly appreciate!

I would probably call the dealer first to confirm they won't charge you. If you read about me taking my car to Peninsula Infiniti for warranty work, they tried to charge me for everything. Last thing you want to do is take you car to the dealer to get your cd lens cleaned and they end up charging you $45+.

My car just went over that 70K miles warranty, so I dont think I would get any slack from the dealer. But I would give them a call, just in case! thanks for a tip!

Try to stay away from those cd cleaning disks. Most use a small brush which can sometimes do more damage than good...example..knock your lense out of alignment or scratch it. What issues are you having with your cd player?

Over 3 years, I think my CD player is getting dirty. Sometime, it couldn't read the CD or skip some songs. I know for sure it's not the CD itself but it is getting dust in there or something. So you said to stay away from those cleaning disks? only dealer can do the cleaning part???

The dealer wont do anything different, since your having those issues, give the cleaning disc a try, just run it for the proper time and don't over do it.
