im planning to buy 04 headlights for 80 bucks good deal? im planning to do my own project on them, was wondering if i should go for 06's? what is the difference btw? and how much would they go for. the headlights come with the bulbs but no ballast. any suggestions? thanks!

 

80bucks for a clean set of housings are cheap. i dont get ur question are u going retro? or u asking if u should jsut get 06s?

 

The 06+ lights have projectors and no longer have a clearance strip. It is up to you on what you want to do. IMO, if you want projectors, buying 06+ lights are easier than retrofitting 04 lights.

You can get 06+ lights for $200+.

You can use the ballasts from you current lights on your new set.

Projectors are considered to be a superior lighting system. As kris pointed out, a projector system projects light through a lens where a reflector system uses the housing to reflect the beam.

Also, a difference between 03-05 coupe lights and 06+ projectors is that 06+ lights are bi-xenon, meaning the high-beam is HID whereas in the 03-05 the high beam is halogen.

IMO, demon eyes never looked good on G's. It looks kinda goofy since they are on top of each other and especially on the 06+ as they are not perfect circles. They also don't look that great when they are turned off.

However, I always loved the way demon eyes look on cars where the rings sit side by side:
