They are not brighter. Stock is the brightest. They may appear brighter, but it is most likely the greater contrast due to the color.

wrong. 4300k gives off 3200 lumens. 6000k drops off to 2400 lumens.
you're looking at a decrease of 25% light output.

that's only for those philips oem d2s bulbs. what are the stats for other manufacturers' bulbs (and also for varying K values)?

If anything, generic brands offer lower lumen output at the same temperature, but is should be around the same ballpark. Most 6000K bulbs will get you anywhere between 2200-2600 lumens. Anything more and they are just lying.

If you are talking about the factory issue Philips 85122+, a while back you could have easily get a pair of those on ebay for under $50 from reputable sellers. I am surprised to see them now for about $90.

true... sometimes I wish my 4300K's were brighter. I really don't see how people drive around with 8000K+ bulbs. I have friends with 6000K and it is so-so. Anymore and it is just horrible.

Ohh naw i did a retrofit to the 06-07 projector lights and was using my oem
d2r bulbs from the original 03-05 headlamps which are the relector HID style headlights. Had to dremel an extra groove for the time being to fit until i was able to purchase the actual bulb for the projectors which are d2s. Called the dealer and thats what they quoted me on for OEM for the projectors. Sorry if i didnt mention this but my first post was regarding "PROJECTOR BULBS - D2S" =D

Anyways swapped out the original lens with TSX's and ill say one word 'BRIGHTER!'
