Used XBOX 360 elite?

Does anyone have any experience with this? I wanna buy a 360 Elite, but am not sure if I should pay more and buy new or get a good deal on a used one. Don't wanna spend 300 and get a F**ked up xbox, but am not too excited about paying full price for the thing. If anyone has experience or at least some knowing opinions I'm deff open to hear it.
Thanks guys!

Why exactly do you want an Elite?

I believe they all have the same chipset now, and you don't have to get an Elite to have HDMI, although the Elite is the only one to supply the HDMI cable. You can always upgrade the hard drive later if 20 gig isn't enough storage for you.

The only significant difference about the Elite is that it's black... You really won't need the 120 gig hard drive unless you're going to be on Live downloading a lot, and I do mean a lot... 120gb is a lot of storage...

Graphics are definitely better on a PS3... but you're kidding yourself if you think gameplay on that system is better...

Lol, i hope this isn't gonna be a PS3 vs. 360 thread! I want an Elite because of several factors. Black is nice, not gonna lie. HDMI ready, with headset, also nice, plus the factor that takes the cake IS the memory. My friends all have Elites for the purpose that if you're hardwired on the same network as your PC, which is my life, then you can see any kind of media(given you use windows). My friend downloads HD quality movies onto his PC, and loads them onto his XBOX to watch. It seems a bit superfluous, but I can't get a better graphics card for my PC because I have no PCI-e port, otherwise I wouldn't care AS much, but the quality through the Xbox is way better than anything my PC could do right now.

First off, the headset sucks... it's bulky for what it is, and is uncomfortable to wear. You're better off buying one of the cheap $10 headsets from any store.

Second, you can hook up your computer and use it as storage. Or you can always use a jump drive. Why does your friend move everything to the xbox?

Third, the 360 is loud when it's on... why use it to watch movies if you have other alternatives? (But then again, that may just be mine with it's additional fans and other case mods...)

LOL, all of my boys play COD4 on 360, the other reason why I'm on that. Why do you say new though? Any insights I'm not aware of?

I'd either go with new or buy from someone on Craigslist that you can actually see it run first.

i'd be a little too scared of an RROD'd box.

I'd try to sway you towards the PS3 as it has all you're looking for and more, but definitely get something that more of your buddies have so you guys can play on Live.

With new you get the warranty which counts for some peoples peace of mind.

I would consider the PS3 only if you plan on getting into Blu Ray DVDs down the road. Right now its basically the cheapest blu ray player but you have to deal with not having alot of games to choose from and a sucky live play.

Xbox live is bad ****. Going to go play some Halo in a minute

Thats my first and foremost thought about getting it new. Even if they say it has minor wear, and I can see it run, I have a considerably smaller amount of time with the warranty. My friend had RROD, turned it off and left it off for a few weeks thinking it's done, then tried it again and it worked fine. Don't know much about it, but he was pissing his pants with excitement when it came back on! Most likely gonna go with a new one, but putting it on hold for a few weeks, just bought tickets to Vegas for my buddies 21st. Hopefully will win enough money for some turbos down there!!!!
