Phenomenol composure Cru. Had they gotten inside your house, justifiable homicide. Remember fear, intent, and ability. In self defense or defense of others. You did the best thing that you could do. Be a great witness and let those who get paid to handle these things do their job. I'm glad nobody got hurt and you didn't have to double tap anyone. I hear you about the juvi getting a slap on the wrist. Welcome to CA. I hooked a "kid" for driving a stolen car and resisting. His second offense by the way. The DA dropped the whole thing cause he was a juvi. What a waste of time. Hopefully incidents such as yours and your neighbors will band the community together. Maybe start up a community watch program if one isn't already in place. Just pray that everyone doesn't start arming themselves, though. Not everyone has the muzzle discipline that you do. It could turn into the wild west. Stay safe.

Chippie,

This is what irritates me... I have been having some issues with my neighbors from hell and I got to the point where I have to move... it's a long story.

There are only a handfull of us neighbors who'd banned together, but others didn't and their reasoning was, "I don't want to get involve". UGH! it's affecting them and their family and they don't want to get involved? This sort of cowardly thing just frustrates me to no end. I agree w/ you on people arming themselves. Some are not as disciplined as Cru, but growing up with guns around us, I am lucky that I was taught safety and discipline. I just hope I'm not forced to have to fire my gun at any human being.

I'm formerly from the Bay Area. Fremont, Hayward & South San Jose; this is nothing new. I live in Texas now, people are afraid to break into people's houses because a majority of house owners here carry guns. They shoot and ask questions later if your still alive...hahahahahaa.

Hayward. I don't miss it. One night had some fool tapping on my patio door. I run to grab my gun, and I hear my girl telling her friend on the phone "He's going to hide. Can you believe it?" I come back and it turns out to be the cops wanting me to let them in the gate. Lesson: take your girl to the back with you...

Damn bro that f**king sucks. I just read ur entire post on the other thread. These home invasion robberies have become quite the trend for over 10 years now in Fremont. When I was in high school a lot of people had gotten into it, n I think unfortuantley the trend has maintained with high school / post high school kids. Hopefully things will get better, but good thing you didn't have to shoot anyone and that Fremont PD has soo much time on their hands (when their not giving out window tint tickets) that when **** pops off they come through hella deep like the army or something lol.

i live in san francisco. i was out of town for a month for christmas vacation. someone broke into my apartment and took some cash. when i came back, it happened again during a weekend when i was just out for 10 hrs. the thing is nothing was damaged, no searching, nothing. everything was in place but money was gone. does it sound like just a random guy or a frd who did this?
a week after all this happened, my frd decided to give me a surprise, since i live on the first floor, people can easily access to my window. he rang the bell, bang the door, opened my window. since all these happened without a clue how and who did this, i was freakin out and grab a hammer in my hand. called 911, minutes later, 5 cops showed up and told them to stop and duck down. i opened the door and i saw my idiot frd had his arms on his head on the ground. all i said was 'wtf'...

I bet your burglar is a neighbor that sees when you leave. Set up a hidden camera and get that sh*tbag on tape.

possible, but how could he get in? the scary thing was that person just walked in from my front door and all the way in my room and know where exactly i put my money. even worse than someone breaking in. pretty sure had the key. anyways, i moved to a new place and 2nd floor.

Apartment manager?

the property owner has it. but they said its in a computer system so it has record of anyone taking it. no records were shown. until now, no clue who did it. cant think of a frd who could have done this. but if its a random person, how could they put everything back in place but able to tell my money. reasonable if i was gone for a month but the second time happened in 10 hrs. all doors and windows were securely looked before i went out. door left unlocked but closed when i got back. so the first time he helped me to lock the door when he left but not the second time!???
