BAY AREA: Best Place to get Brake Job besides Dealer!

Hey guys

I need to get a brake job on my 2004 G35 Sedan, is there a reputable shop here in the Bay Area besides the Stealerships?.

Everytime I gently apply the brakes I get a high pitch noise, its not metal to metal...Bit I figure I get it checked out by a shop then if I need a brake job have them do it.

Why pay a shop to do it, just do it yourself. Get a jack, a 14mm wrench and a C-clamp. If you want to replace the rotors then you would also need a 18mm wrench/socket. It takes about half an hour for each side, most shops charge 50-80 PER side for pads only. It's ridiculously expensive for such a simple job.

+1 It's REALLY easy to replace brake pads, I did the rear pads the other day on my wife's Sequoia; took about 30 minutes for the entire job.

im having an awful time trying to find a shop that will turn my slotted rotors. most chain shops wont touch it, and the couple indy shops that will do it say they cant guarantee the work.

any recommendations on places in the san leandro/berkeley area (im willing to go farther to find a good shop, i guess) that will do a good job at this?
