Yeah the vdc kicks in when you try to do that Pat. There are ways to turn it completely off, but seems to be a too big of a hastle. I know with 20s' even after a burnout, you won't have much of a grip, so I don't see a point of burning up $500+ in two tires.

Yup. Ruins the fun when you apply a the break to do a standing burnout aka Break Stand.

Sounds great, I am interested in attending both wednesdays if possible. A little nervous, never tracked before. Any special requirements needed to get on the track? Helmet, extinguisher...? Anyone coming up from Davis?

Nothing to be nervous about to be honest with you. Your adrenaline will be up though when your staging. No need for a Helmet unless your car is doing 13s or below. Its not a requirement for a extinguisher, but if you have one I would just bring it just to be on the safe side.

^^^^ It has to be a full face helmet, so like a street bike helmet will work. If you run a 13 and don't have a helmet, you won't get kicked out, but they won't let you race without one. Just bring one in case.

Do they ever have open track sessions, not just drags. I wanna see how I would do on the twisties.

Also, what do you guys normally launch at? I'm assuming the VDC should be off?

sac raceway is a straight drag strip only. The only twisties you'll encounter may be the ones on the way there. LOL

I think Infineon has a proper track. We should definitely try to organize a run there in the future, probably like next spring or something.

you won't be running in the 13's without FI. So unless you are FI I wouldn't worry about it.
