Hahaha, I prefer the xxD series... but I would like to get the 5D.

Papa, Rudy, and Andy has the XTi's, right?

If you want you can shell out for the new T1i coming out. Looks pretty sweet.

I ask that because I only take pics during the drive, so its very hard to take pics with the view finder, not to mention dangerous, but I would like to get some thing bit more advance than point and shoot ones.

Yeah... I pulled it off a few times, but it was still dangerous...

I forget which Rebel, but one of them supports the Live-View function if I remember correctly...

I think the Rebel XSi (which is also dropping in price now) and can focus while you're in that mode too. 40D can't.

There's a 5D Mark II out, but it retails for $2700 for just the camera. It shoots HD videos though...

Lens... depends on what you're doing, but quality glass will probably cost you close to 2k...
