Warning: 80 East between Vallejo and Fairfield

Last night, on the way home, I got very bumpy surprise. Going east on 80 after American Canyon there's road construction on lanes 1 and 2 (fast lanes). Dear god, I bounced up and down like 5 times, thinking I was on a roller coaster, I stuck my hands up in the air and waited to get my picture taken on the last dip.

Seriously though, if you're going that way I recommend you stay on the two slow lanes on the right. You'll hit uneven pavement at American Canyon, Cordelia and once more before Fairfield.

Why they decided to add speed bumps on the freeway, I don't know. Can't wait until they finish paving that stretch of highway!

I just experienced the same, on my way back to Sac yesterday. Had my coilover dampening set pretty hard to minimize tire rubbing, and these sections of unfinished road were pretty harsh. I hit one of these sections around 75mph, and it felt like my car was flying. Definitely a good idea to stay in the right lanes in this area.

Oh, damn, all of you Sac guys had to go that way back home after the show!

I just hope they don't plan on keeping it that way for too long. And I hope they finish one side before they decide to dig up the right lanes also.

I was not expecting them either and hit about every stretch. I was scared . My car rubs a little and I think I got a free fender pull going through those. Pretty ridiculous it was left that way on top of no warning. Stay away!

I wish there had been one of these threads when I killed my rims last year on 24. Good looking out Rudy.

i hit every single one of the areas on Saturday after the show.

the first one felt like we were going to fly off the road! the subsequent ones just felt like they were going to dent a rim.

naturally, i decided to get over to lane 3 after all of them were over...

Seriously, the first one scared me like it did the rest of you. The worst part is that you see it coming and you think, "Wow, that doesn't look right..." Then you hit the first bump and all you can think after that is, "Omg, there's like four more!" BAM BAM BAM BAM!!

If this thread helps just one person here on NorCal then it was worth starting the thread.

Update: Now there's work being done to the West bound side. Two slow lanes are your best bet. East bound, at the moment, is still rough but not as bad. Lowered cars feel it more than stock cars.

Conditions look like they can change from day to day so always use caution between American Canyon Road and Cordelia.
