I checked the prices for the Alcatraz tour and it was $58 bucks. Yikes, not sure if i wanna spend that.
Might check out Pier 39 and stuff.
Any info on parking? Just kinda put quarters in a meter? I am not used to paying for parking LOL in MN every place has its own, free parking haha

Have fun Jen!
Parking is quite spendy down in Fisherman's Wharf. When visiting Pier 39 with the kids, I usually park across the street in the enclosed Pier 39 garage. I think they still validate some portion of the parking if you have dinner at one of the restaurants. However, it can be expensive. There are some open parking lots down the street. I think that the flat rate might be some $15.00 on a weekday evening.
That would be nice lol.
It's simply that, Janik. That particular part of town was the heart of the fishing industry here back in the day. Now, it's littered with restaurants, attractions, Pier 39. This is where the boat leaves for the Alcatraz tour. Fisherman's Wharf is definitely a tourist destination spot.
Ok, well we got our tourist map so we will find it.
BTW, my friend wants to eat at a sit down restaurant thats pretty good, but not super expensive. Whats a good place to recommend? (that isnt 10 miles from our Hotel in south san francisco)

Hey Janik, we also have the largest mall west of the Mississippi..check it out if you get a chance! --also, you can drive up to Twin Peaks and get a full view of SF from on top of that hill..
Hm. you can walk across the golden gate bridge..
you can also visit places like Coit tower, Chinatown, Japantown, etc..
There's tons of tourist destinations in SF>
outside of SF, you can Great America(theme park) , Santa Cruz.. hmm.. there's also Standford university, they have a nice campus and alot of scenic junk around it too.

Thanks everyone, the next few months will be very hectic for me with the academy and such. And yes Chris, this is my first. I think 6 is a little too many for me, maybe just one more in about a year or two.
Janik, have fun walking up and down the wharf but keep your eyes open for the "bush man"
You'll know when you run into him
