I would not advise Sat roll in unless that is the only day you can make it. The line was long and it took a while to get in after inspection. Should be a great show.

they also make you pop the hood to check vin numbers, and they do a general inspection for any illegal stuff, including inspecting your trunk

the inspection, IF they actually do one, is to make sure there are no stolen parts on your car or illegal items (drugs, alcohol, etc) in your car. there were police officers at san mateo checking vins (very unusual), but normally its just HIN's security folks checking the cars. FWIW, the only car i saw get turned away in san mateo showed up on the 2nd day of roll-in and had a badly damaged bumper.

The inspection I was talking about is them just checking out your car for things that could be concidered illegal to bring into any event. I popped my hood and trunk and they quickly looked through it. I have also done security for other car shows (SM HIN included) and we would look under seats and roll mirrors under the vehicles as well. No cans, bottles, food, weapons, etc allowed in. It would be the same as if you were walking into the event. They were not telling people that thier cars were not modded enough.

^Hey Troy, you were actually able to get mirrors under some of these cars? Most of them are so dumped to the ground, I'd imagine you'd be lucky to get a sheet of paper underneath them!

Yup, that's right. I got pulled over four times. That's a new record for me in one day.

Not enough mods to get in the show, but just enough to get pulled over 4 times in one day. Nice.
as well the thread

You can tape up bumper if you want since it wil be warm and the bugs will be out. Since you are coming from Sac, you will get quite a few dead ones stuck to your car. You can just do the ole quick detail when you get there to wipe em off. Try to work it out so you are aroung 1/4 full otherwise you will be driving around alot more than you want.

I'll definitely be running my front plate to and from the show. No sense in getting popped for something dumb like that, don't want to give them a reason.

^Not coming from Salinas. He was already in San Mateo when he got pulled over four times. At least, this event is in Pleasanton this time. And although, after the show, Pleasanton PD was lined up just waiting to pull over all the spectators leaving the event, I have no knowledge of them pulling over the show participants.
