Guys, I made a boo boo today. While trying to extend my wires so that they can reach, I accidently CUT two wires. I have attached a photo.

EDIT: Ended up splicing them together with some butt connectors and additional 14 gauge wires.

can't you strip cover, twist them together, then solder

I am done. I declare the Driver Side Wire Tuck the worst DIY experience I've ever encountered LOL. At first I thought I messed up my airbags but it turns out that I just needed to reset it. And then my interior lights went out, but upon searching, it just needed to be reset too by removing the negative battery wire for about 30 seconds.

I would post pictures but I am beat. I started at 3PM and I just finished right now at 11:15PM. This was certainly harder than the passenger side.

A word of advice to anyone who plans to do this; it is not your average mommy's DIY. Be very careful and take it slow. I learned my mistake.

I should change my statement. For me both wires on the passenger side was easy.

The driver one was a pain because I made mistakes on my own, so I guess it'll be easier for some, or harder if a mistake was made.

I got nervous when my airbag light kept flashing... I thought I did something bad. So far after resetting it it has not flashed since.

Did you drill a new hole to run the wires through on the drivers side? Do you know if the wire that was cut was the one for the airbag sensor up front? I can see that causing your airbag lights to go off.

LOL. Yeah I ended up drilling a new hole for the driver's side. I'm not sure what two wires those were, but after splicing them together everything seems to be normal now. I used a bullet connector so they are pretty well connected.

I turned on the power when the wires were unhooked, so I think it must have sensed that the airbag was disconnected and threw the code. After resetting the airbag all is normal now. Thanks!
