Nismo SSK Install

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone knew an affordable place to get my Nismo Short Shifter installed. Got some quotes of $100 and over so far, but figured that I could probably find a better deal. (Not too much work, I just don't have the time and/or equipment to do the install myself). If anyone could suggest something I'd be very grateful!

this should be extremely easy to put in.. consider DIY? You shouldn't even need any tools.

I've looked into it, but I need to lift the car (which is challenging but doable with the factory jack). The thing that scares me is that people mention the possibility of getting metal shavings into the tranny if you don't know how to take out/put in the actual shifter. The idea of ruining the tranny that easily makes me a tad uncomfortable.

Are you still doing mods and maintenance? How much would you charge for such a job?

Have you considered querying Beshoff about this? They are usually very good about mods.

Ask g35papa I bet he would do it. Maybe also Mach III, or I would say try beshoff too

$100 is the going price for short shifter installs, but I'm sure you can find shops willing to do this for you if they're empty and you walk in with $70 cash in hand. If they play like they're busy without any cars on the lifts, walk away...

Mach III quoted me $100, and I talked to papa already, didn't work out with him either. I will be calling Beshoff, but it's kind of a trek for me if the price isn't significantly different!

takes like 10 minutes.DIY LINK

Well $100 seems fair to me, and then I doubt beshoff will be any cheaper. If you want cheaper I would just install it myself, I will be installing my RE shifter myself this next week or so.. not a very hard install

Short shifter install is actually very simple... you just have to get underneath the car twice for one bolt...

You guys have convinced me! I'm gonna give this a shot next weekend!

^ lol, I live like 2 blocks away from Mach III, you swear they'd give me a neighborhood special price!

Kris79 Apr 6, 2010 11:47 AM

75 bucks

I think i'm set on trying it myself at this point. Reread the DIY and feel like I can do this, just never messed with drivetrain parts before, mostly engine and electronics stuff. Be on standby though Kris lol!
