Recommendations on Shop to Install AVIC-X920BT

Hey guys,

Anyone know a place where I can install this?
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ms/AVIC-X920BT

I just bought it and it's coming in tomorrow. I got it for $460 shipped through Amazon (after discounts). If there's a cheap (but good quality) place I can bring my car in to install this, please let me know.

Thanks!

The guy who did mine (Bing@Simplicity in Sound) is booked for months.. so I can't recommend you a place.. but do you have a double-din kit (JDM or Metra) already? Won't be able to install it without that afaik.

I don't have the kits. I'm not too familiar with which kit to get. Can you tell me more? How much did you pay at Simplicity in Sound?

Head on over to the Audio/Video section of the forum.. tons of answers there. Here's one of the guides concerning the DD kits: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...urce-list.html

The guy at Sound Source USA in Oakland quoted me $179 for all parts and $250 for labor and he says it'll take all day for the install.

DOnt get the Metra kit. It looks really cheap. Stick with the OEM one that can be found here on the boards. Bing will not just install a radio. He is so busy that it would not be worth it. Your best bet is to take it to a local shop. Does anyone know if sfgr415 (Giacomo) still works at motor music?

I have the metra kit and honestly, it's not that bad. I kinda like the rubber buttons compared to the plastic ones. I like the feeling of it. THe only problem is the fitment, it's not flush

If I were you, I would do the installation myself. It took me about 8 hours when I got mine and I was installing a subwoofer+amp also.

When I had to change decks or put anything else into my radio, it only took 1 hour tops to take everything out, change or add the hardware/accessory, and put back in.
