there are a few loaner helmets available but if you can borrow one to bring, it would help.

Perusing the NASA rules.. it says:
Use a proper fitting helmet that meets Snell 1990 (SA1990; M1990) or newer (or equivalent) standards for cars or motorcycles.
But then it says..

All drivers are required to wear an approved helmet while on track. Helmets must be
approved by Snell and carry a sticker of Snell 2000 ( SA2000) or better*. Ratings other
than that of “SA” (Special Application), i.e. “M1995, M2000”, are not acceptable.
*Alternatively, helmets with an FIA certification of 8860-2004, or an SFI label showing
the rating of 31.1A, 31.2A, or 31.1/2005 are acceptable. It is strongly recommended that
any helmet sustaining any substantial impact be replaced.

the first part is likely a typo. infineon requires SA2000 or higher for drag events. if you're buying your own helmet, might as well get an SA2005 helmet.

The SA is required for racing. For HPDE and HyperDrive, a regular M is OK.

Use the link and the coupon code but do it soon because space is limited. A few loaner helmets are available but if you can borrow one from a friend before coming, it will help out everyone.

Hmm...might as well invest in a M rated helmet for now since i will get a bike in the future. I'll wait till the SA 2010 if i ever do get a helmet for racing lol

I would hope there's a free option or I really need to delete this.
G,

How are you? I trust everyone is well. Carol sends her regards.

If you take an exception to this particular thread, I would either "LOCK" it until you receive a satisfactory reply or simply delete it, since I do not see a response to your comment. A fair and quite reasonable amount of time has elapsed.

Perhaps, you may have received a PM from the OP, perhaps not. If the latter, I have an issue with the fact this thread is working around you.

- Andy

^? what? seems weird to lock or delete a thread that is telling us about a track event, that we can go to and at a good price, i thought the forum was to help members.

Don't get your thong all twisted up in a knot. Your points are correct.

My comments were directed at a 'Driver staff member. If G has an issue, I share in that issued. If you had taken the time to read what I had written . . . G's exception may have been resolved through a PM. As it stands, G has taken no action.

Why did you not take an exception to her initial post?

From my end, it appears that her comments were ignored and that does not stand well with me. I am merely inquiring and making suggestions, if the situation so requires.

Anyone else wish to take a crack at it?

Not to worry Andy, I pm'd the OP. I'm leaving this because it looks interesting.
The OP is aware he needs a sponsorship to continue.
