Need help with speeding ticket (San Juaquin Count area)

Hey guys this is my first speeding ticket and im not really sure what to do. I called the court to see how much the fine was and they said it was $570.

The cop said i was going 47 and the zone was 30mph. The clerk at the court said i could go in before a judge and see if i can get the fine reduced because quiet frankly i feel $570 is pretty damn ridiculous.

Do you guys have any suggestion on how i can present this case? Or any suggestion in what i should do? Thanks

Dude. The best bet is to show up in court tell the judge you have had a stellar driving record. You might want to go to DMV and request your record. Then see if he will reduce. But if the travel is costly ur better off paying the fine and traffic school to wipe ur record clean. I think your ticket with traffic school will be more around $475

Ticket with traffic school makes it cheaper?

I asked a friend and he said to to a trail by declaration first and see what the verdict is. What im afraid of is that this will void my chance to take traffic school in case they rule my guilty. Does anyone have any insight on this?

It doesn't make it cheaper, but that quote of $500 plus is a little excessive. I'm saying that if you pay the fine plus do traffic school it will be a combine $475

you have nothing to lose when you go to court, only time. The price can't increase unless you have prior infractions

Jus say you have a financial hardship or something like that and ask for a reduction, you will most likely get this.

I have never been to court for a speeding ticket but went to court for a "right lane red light violation". I was ready to give my statement and proof but before I can, the officer dropped the charges..woot woot!!

when I was in court, I hear other people's cases and majority of the time, the ticket is reduced but really depends on the judge...
