Other than ample parking to accommodate a larger crowd and dumped friendly entrance, Im sure its all the same.

The Quarry Lakes BBQ is a yearly event, its just a heads up from Troy to let you guys know it will be coming. Im sure one can also be setup @ Shadow Cliffs, we can never have too many BBQ's

Next one in August? Sweet .. both the 6th and 20th are "open" on my calendar!

Going back to Heather Farms is OK .. very nice area.
I've been to Lake Elizabeth in Fremont a few times .. also a nice area.
Lafayette Reservoir .. I might have been there 1x .. I recall being at a park (?) off Mt. Diablo ..

Yeah .. when I 1st saw him drive into the parking lot, I thought it was patman's too. Then I noticed the hood was different, wheels different.
I don't recall his name .. but he did say that it was a done by TNT.

I don't know if it's exactly the same color as patman's .. but it's close.

Lafayette is a no-go. Too many people with hooligan kids, hybrids, bikes, trikes and scooters to scratch cars.

Livermore's Shadow Cliffs is great and it looks like the Niles one will be too.

Whenever you guys/girls decide a new date let me know , I have been to Lake Elizabeth a few times and it is very nice...not sure about parking as it fills up pretty quick on nice warm days.

If heather farms worked out so well then why not just do it here again? where is majority of people coming from?
I'd be coming from walnut creek so I'm biased to heatherfarms lol

The only thing that kills it is that there is always a cap put for how many cars can attend due to small parking lot. People sign up and then dont show up killing it for those that wanted to go but couldnt because the list was full.

Just my 2 cents.

Lake Elizabeth/Fremont also imposes a cap on attendees (otherwise you are subject to getting a permit as well). I don't know about Shadow Cliff's ..

Between the 2 places .. Lake Elizabeth and Heather Farms .. I like the set up at Heather Farms better (clean facilities - quite a few of them, great parking, easy access).

Me? I'd be coming from Sacramento .. I"m sure there are others driving farther.

LOL .. I'd almost suggest you all come out my way .. going to something like Elk Grove Park, there is a FREE area (if one gets there early enough) and doesn't necessarily require a permit .. lots of parking .. but in the August timeframe we're probably talking hi-90s to low-100s in temps.

There was a guy following me back from the meet, in a white G35 with bronze rims...anyone know who that was. I assume he was from Sac.

Yeah i think the cap on parking is the only bad part about heather farms but other than that walnut creek is really clean & quite & usually not many people who will scratch our cars. But also I think having 25cars is enough for a bbq you don't want like 150 people coming or else it would just be to many to cook for, seat, park, clean up after.

The cap is put in place to avoid having to pay for permits. There is actually a larger parking lot if you keep driving further into Heather Farms.

it would be nice to open it up more but ^Will brings up a good point in keep the numbers fairly managable.

I'll try to get out to Shadow Cliffs over the next couple of weeks and snap some pics and ask if they have any restrictions, etc for another possible location

Ahh, that makes sense. I thought the cap was because of the parking situation.

middle harbor park in oakland is pretty cool. One of the other sites I am on had a pretty decent sized meet there. Some police did come through but did not cite anyone (lifted/lowered trucks) and actually didnt even say a word and just hung out for while then left.
