Something I forgot to mention is that we want to be sure to be low key at this meet (no reving, dounuts..horseplay ) as there is always walnut creek PD sharing the parking lot with us. That's been the case every year we've had these bbq's. They've always been nice enough to leave us alone so let's keep that going

Once we reach 25 sign ups on the list, we will be closing up the sign up list.

Thanks

The chicken will be fine if its boneless. Thighs usually work well because they hold up on the grill since they have some fat. Breasts tend to dry out faster. THe stuff with the bones is a PITA to grill. (I think I will be stuck grilling most of the time) Ribs need to be cooked low and low or else they char on the outside and are not tender. We dont have thie time or the grill to do it right. If you want you can bring some chicken and some carne asada (flank or flap steak lemon salt and pepper is a winner) I have BBQed enough to learn from my mistakes

Do you still want to buy the bump side markers I have??

I usually do boneless thighs. Teriyaki chix it is then. I make a great flank steak/carne asada marinade. I'll bring some of that too then. (That should satisfy Nates' tri tip hunger...lol. I forgot about the cook/grill time for a picnic vs home)

Does anyone live close to a place for fresh corn tortillas?

pm-ing you on the markers....

Looks like we will have enough chow mein/fried rice/asian food. If everyone who signed up comes, we will have chicken, steak, carne asasa, more beef, pork ribs and about 70 hot dogs wrapped in bacon. We have cookies, chips and brownies as well as pasta and lasagna. Not sure how many sodas each person will bring. Last year Jeff brought like 10 cases of soda which was alot but appreciated greatly. We may need more charcoal or some wood since we have alot to BBQ throughout the day. Also, we could use a large cooler to keep the meat and perishables in.

Still a few more spots to go. If we go over 25, people will need to start carpooling so we can get more in attendance.

^^ Thanks for the recap.
I'm still checking out my calendar and juggling with family to see if I can make it.
How about garbage bags? I'm not familiar with the area .. are there enough garbage cans .. maybe garbage bags to separate "garbage" from "
paper" from cans .. so if anyone wants to re-cycle they can??
