Relatively inexpensive hotels in Dowtown San Francisco?

A couple of friends and I are heading out to San Francisco for the Deftones show on June 13th from L.A. We plan on staying there from Sunday June 12th to Tuesday June 14th. Unfortunately, they are financially restrained (a.k.a broke ).

The show is taking place at the Warfield which I believe is around the downtown/union square area.

Can any of you recommend a few relatively inexpensive hotels around the area? We prefer to stay around an area where we can walk to bars and is relatively touristic. But that of course will depend on the price of the hotels.

It has to be under $130 a night, the less the better of course. Anything decent will do since we won't be in the hotel much.

Thanks for any help. If you guys know any hook-ups too, well, that would be awesome as well.

go for bookit.com

i have used it exclusively everytime i stay at SF and they always have incredible offers on downtown hotels.

i have never paid more than $80/night at hotels right at union square thru that website.

I want to get check out the Deftones but the floor tickets are all sold out. Cheapest I found them on craigslist is about $80 a pop. Should be a good show. Saw them in October in San Jose and almost saw them in February in Honolulu.
