This Run is shaping up! I have all of the maps, Itinerary & lunch menus printed up, just have to staple and collate.
Guys & Gals, you may want to look at the wine list on the website link for Roederer Estate. Club members - Pete & Karen took up 48 bottles of water last Saturday to store in their frig, waiting for us when we arrive.
Start making your list of things to bring and prep, I gave some TIPS on the Itinerary posted above.

Could everyone please print out the Lunch Menu (see below) and bring it with them to Saturday main staging area and turn it in to me. This will cut down alot of time.

Hi All,
My apologies for dropping off the face of the earth after the run. We had a lot of family medical issues to tend to. All is good and Hal's lung sugery on 8/25/11 was a success and the results from the lab came back last Friday and there is no cancer. Now we can continue with our lives and live everyday to the fullest.
I drafted up an email right after the run, but never finished it, until today. Enjoy the photos and more to come.
Recap of Summers End Run 2011
Weather was fantastic, great people and a route to end the summer. Food was up the expectations, a few glitches which come with every large group. Overall they received an A-. Highway 20 from Willits to Fort Bragg had enough twists and switchbacks to keep even the most experienced drivers alert. The drive along Pacific Coast Highway 1 down and thru Mendocino kept us together in one group approaching the bridge where two photographers were waiting to snap off several photos as the parade of cars crossed over. Then several down hill coastal switchbacks with great back drops of the ocean made for some great rolling photos.
Approaching the dark road ahead was Navarro River Redwoods, which was like something out of Jurassic Park. It was taken very easy thru this stretch of road to take in all the beauty the forest has to offer. Dropped into Anderson Valley where the vineyards are dotted along the sweeping highway onto Roederer Estates which was very upscale and stylish with all the cars lined up along the hillside of vineyards and southward was a great view of the Anderson Valley that stretches for miles.
After cool refreshments provided by Pete & Karen and some cookies from Ken and Mary tucked away in the boot from the morning send off, we said our farewells and headed back on the highway for another 40 miles of pure adrenaline back roads twisting thru to Highway 101. Everyone parted their own way back home and we followed Steve and Simon for some time before we also turned off towards Sacramento.
The Summers End Run was an appropriate title for the last run of the summer before we headed back to work and the kids back to school, one last fling before back to the grind. Thanks to all that participated, I made a lot of new friends and caught up on times with old friends. Until we meets again, keep all fours on the road and the pedal to the metal.
I would like to thank the following people for helping out. Pete and Karen created a spreadsheet for the lunch menu. They also collected all of the menus. Registration was assisted by Cindy & Jim. Hal for being tail gunner, the last person, but the most important, he is the glue that keeps everything smooth. His idea to split up the 30 cars into groups of 6 made Hwy 20 much more enjoyable.
Photo links will follow as soon as I sort them and upload to a web server. Some have already provided photo links which I will email more links as they become available.
In the meantime some have already posted their fantastic photos, so enjoy these and more to come.
