Infiniti Master tech have a question for you guys

Just trying to get a feel for the business I could drum up. Would you guys take your cars to a shop that's not gonna gouge you on labor and knows your cars inside and out? I was thinking if I charge like $60 an hour for labor and I use factory (or whatever the customer specifies) parts, I may be able to do ok. I have also done a ton of aftermarket stuff. I used to have an 06 6mt cpe that I built up on top of doing customer work. Please let me know what you guys think...

That's pretty much how every small independently owned/operated shop/ mechanic started out..

That being said good luck charging only $60/hr.. You can't work commercially out of your garage, and the insurance and other govt fees add up fast...

If you just intend to do side jobs on the DL that's different tho, once you get your name out it should be pretty easy. I know a guy locally who got some good experience at a performance shop then quit to just do side jobs.. Transgo installs, clutches, twin turbo installs, valve cover replacements, etc. he's been doing great. Works his own hours and is only responsible to himself for how much money he can make
