5Fifteen Auto Body - just another satisfied customer
I haven't posted in a while but I just want to spread out the word out there that I am extremely happy with the work AND the service that 5Fifteen Auto Body in Burlingame did for us.
This is an extensive review so get some popcorn or something. =)
Our coupe was hit and run while parked in San Francisco (I didn't see the damage until the next day). We have a Top Secret bumper installed on the car since 2006 and needless to say, a little bump means havoc for these types of bumpers.
The most damage it got was by the driver side headlight but it had cracks everywhere, if it wasn't because of the clear-bra, it would've peeled into pieces driving home.

I went to a local body shop and quoted minimum $4000 and using OEM bumper, the shop said they can try to get the top secret bumper but without guarantees and it can't be fixed. I called couple of aftermarket shops to see if they can find me a Top Secret bumper in stock and obviously none has them and a wait of atleast 3 months. Replicas are available but I am skeptical with fitment and may take more time and money to get it fitted right.
This is an insurance claim so it doesn't matter to me how much it would cost BUT I want to make sure that the quality of work is there and that I will be getting either an authentic top secret bumper or get my bumper fixed.
So I called Kris after seeing from Facebook all the cars that they worked on. Kris was a fellow G35 driver (who I haven't seen in years), a fellow NSX driver, we did shows together and some fun mountain runs. Kris as a shop manager was extremely helpful, did everything to make sure that what I wanted done was met. I'm not a picky customer, I asked for 3 things, same bumper fixed or new, matched paint (probably the hardest) and clear-bra and Kris and the guys at 5Fifteen Auto Body did just that and then some. He even gave me a kick a$$ deal with red Type-R NSX carpet and can get me other parts too.. But that's for a different topic.
Anyway, Kris handled all the claims, talked to my insurance and so I did not do a single thing which is awesome. He fixed our bumper extremely well (we decided not to purchase one because of the long wait) , painted (did multiple tries as Ivory pearl is hard to match), and clear bra installation.

Now here is where the extra customer support comes into play and their attention to detail. Other than the bumper, everything else looked fine outside and perfect but quite a few things were wrong with it. There were some broken tabs of the headlight, minor bent fender, bent hood. These are the things I cannot see but this was taken care of and again, I did not talk to my insurance about it. The bumper, hood, fenders were all fixed and painted perfectly matched. The whole front end looked brand new. They even polished my headlight which I did not even realize how foggy it was before.
I asked if he can paint the driver side-skirt as it got hit couple years ago by a brick on the road. I was going to pay out of pocket but hinting to Kris for a discount. =) He painted my side-skirts anyway and did not asked for a single dime. SUPER AWESOME!
Here's another story just to elaborate how cool Kris is. The wife and I are in New York that weekend they finished the car. Originally, we were going to take BART home to El Cerrito from the airport that Sunday night BUT because of expected delays, we will miss the last BART train and no one will be able to pick us up. So last minute I called Kris if he can leave my keys by the car but Kris was busy and was out in Fairfield. Anyway, long story short, Kris went out of his way to drive back to the shop late at night to make sure that the keys are by the car before we landed in SFO. Got to SFO by 1am, took a cab to the shop, drove the car home and got in around 2:30am. Talk about going the extra mile for their customers.
5Fifteen Auto Body and Kris not only does AMAZING work but the customer service and attention to detail is outstanding. Thank you so much and I'll be referring all my friends to you guys and maybe get something done for my own car as well.. =)
Try them out, you won't regret it!!

WTH!! I'm usually good at this stuff. Apparently not.. LOL! Sorry about that. I've changed couple of things and I can see images on both browsers (chrome and IE)
Yes they are pricey... IM sure some insurance companies will not cover cost of repair here due to higher labor/hr rates. Their work does look great though.
