I blew my engine (bearing) at 147K!

Any ideas or source for a rebuilt/used safe bet engine?
Sources seem sketchy and vary a bunch in price, warranty etc.

I am in the Bay Area. I would gladly drive to pick up

Hi Mitch,

I bought an '03 engine about half a year ago with transmission and it has been fantastic. Motor had close to 70k on it but burns no oil! I think the best thing to do is when you are buying it, talk to the previous owner, and try to ask as many questions about the motor as you can. There is really no way to tell the true condition... I mean there are some things you can do, but really it can be hard to tell.
