Body shop in NorCal

Hey everyone,

So I cracked my molded bumper recently and wanted to get it fixed ASAP and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any shops near San Jose, Fremont, or SF, etc... area to help me out with this?

I originally was going to go to Sacramento to get it fixed but I didn't want to do the crazy public transportation from SJ to Sac.

Thanks in advance!!

What do you mean by "molded bumper"? Is it a custom bumper?

It will usually be cheaper and better to replace a cracked bumper if it isn't fiberglass. Polyurethane is hard to patch, and even if you get it to bond, a little flex can break it again, so it is generally cheaper and better to just replace the bumper and pay for paint. All in all, you'll be looking at $150-250 for the bumper and about $100-150 for paint.

A lip is molded on my bumper.

Yeah I'm thinking it will be cheaper to just buy a new bumper or something. I emailed diamond autobody in Sacramento and they said it'll be about 600 to fix. That's of course just based off pictures so that price may change.

If a price seems high, it could also mean a shop just doesn't want to do the work. Keep calling around. If the price really is $600, I'd go with a full bumper.

I know a guy who might be selling a Kuruma Z polyurethane front bumper in DG locally.
