Independent Nissan Specialist in Silicon Valley?
Okay, I officially give up. After paying $550 for the "30k service" (read: oil change and air filters) on my G35, Peninsula Infiniti recommended a $90 power steering flush, a $140 fuel system flush, and (love this one!) $194 WIPER BLADES... along with an $800 brake job and $685 rear tires.
F them.
Can anyone recommend a good independent mechanic specializing in Nissans and Infinitis located around the peninsula? I live in Mountain View and work in Menlo Park; the closer the better.
Thanks for the advice...

I take my car to the Eurasian Small Car Shop, they mostly work on Honda's and Nissan's. They are located at Homer and High street in downtown Palo Alto.
I also use Scott Performance in Santa Clara. Ted does great work!
I hear the Z car garage does great work too. Stop going to the dealer!!!

Go to Z Car Garage. I was the first 30K service Rob ever did and it was perfect. I take all my Nissans there-2003 350, 2003.5 G35s & 2004 Titan Crew Cab. You won't find better than Rob and his crew. The pricing is very fair but getting an appointment can be a waiting game as Z Car Garage has quite a reputation for turning out excellent work and it seems everybody wants that level of workmanship. I paid $150 for the 30K and Rob used the Infiniti Factory check list. He can't do the power flush on the Automatics as he does no have the special tool required.

That sucks about your car. They should be able to fix it. I dropped my car off there on Saturday for a few hours so Rob could show the potential of the car to a guy that flew down from Portland, OR. I asked him about the wide body and he said it is at Williams in San Mateo. William has a few cars he is working on right now, so he's not quite sure when they will get started on it.
Good luck with your fix!

The guy from Portland was quite impressed(scared) by the power of your ride.I belive he was holding on to the door handle quite tightly. That has got to be THE BEST way to show off you wares-scare'em with it. I'm sure the Portland guy will be happy he brought it to Z Car Garage as he knows first hand what is possible. Rod said the widebody G is a"looonnngg process".
