I did mine and it's fairly simple. There are 2 hardwire kits out there, but with the RX65 Pro you only need the cheaper one ($10). I didn't know at the time and paid for the $25 which basically gives you a mute feature. I mounted my detector just to the left of the rearview mirror in the blue strip area of teh windshield up high. I left enough room to click the front button for muting so I dont use the module that's on the hardwire kit.

In any event, there is the "phone cord" connector on the kit that plugs into the detector, leave a little slack for when u want to remove the detector. now you can stuff that wire into the headliner using your fingers, it will be out of sight and no need to bury it. Run this towards the drivers side pillar, you will have to remove the pillar by simply pulling it off. Run the wire down and to make it easier for yourself, you may wanna remove the kickpanel on the drivers side that houses the fuse box. You don't need to, but it will make it easier.

There are now 2 leads - one goes to power source and the other to a ground. I think I tapped into the cig lighter for power (you don't want a constant power supply which will keep the radar detector on 24/7 n kill your battery). I found fuse box connectors at radio shack and they were a biatch to use but i got them to work with some manipulation! lol

Now for the ground, I used a little metal bracket that was screwed into the sidewall area near the fusebox. I simply loosened it up, slid the connector under it and tightened it up! Works great!

Njoy!
