You can go stock. My stock brakes were fine when I went my first time. I had absolutly no fade. This was on my IS. The G should be able to handle the 20 minute sessions just fine. I don't feel that I have come close to over working the brakes on my G. I do have some mods on my IS including coilovers. I will be installing EBC Greenstuff pads, Goodridge SS brakelines, and ATE fluid before the event. I hope to have the brakes upgraded before my first auto-x event in March. This should be a good test before the track day in April.

I'll be with Skip Barber at Laguna Seca at the end of March 29-30 I think. It's a HPDS so it's with street cars (Boxster, 911, 330, M3)

I'm in Natomas. You're in Citrus Heights then? Not too far from me - I'm basically where I-5 meets I-80

So, who is in for the Skip Barber event? I think this would make a great birthday present for myself. Wait a minute, my birthday is in September. In that case, I can give myself a Valentine's Day present.
I'm definitely down for the Skip Barber one day combo. I know it will be an invalubale experience. The only question is the funds. Will have to see how things go.

Folks, Thunderhill is another excellent track ... yall should jump on the opportunity. Laguna Seca is of course legnedary in it's own right as well. Check out these amazing photos one of us took last month at Laguna Seca:

Thunderhill reminds me of Buttonwillow, but a smoother one. I'm partial to medium-high speed sweepers and Thunderhill has plenty of that and plenty of opportunities to get sideways safely.

Kudos to those of you entering the high performance driving shcool. It'll make you that much better!

I'd join in a hearbeat but it's a Thursday! I might be doing Thunderhill with NCRC on 4/16.

I will see you there. Unfortunately, the brakes won't be done in time. I guess this will be my stock brakes' final hurrah. I look for the graphite grey IS300? Or you convince her to let you go with the G?

Well, I went to the link and I don't see any mention of Formula 1. I do see they still offer Formula Ford style open wheel cars like I trained in. F1 cars are something you jump into for a day. What you learn in an open wheel car is translated into a street car much easier as you don't normally drive an open wheel car so you pay attention to what the car is doing. It new so you don't revert back to the I know this stuff attitude. Try the open wheel cars you will like them adn the you'll want to run the "wings and slicks" class from JRR. I had fun all the time.

I will be in the IS. I am excited to see how the new brake setup works. I tried for the G, but it is her baby. Maybe someday...... Where in Sac are you? Maybe we can try to meet up?
