BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
Seriously thinking about an M3

How many of you have had the urge to jump into an M3?
I'd even take a certified pre-owned.
Been thinking about this for a while now...

Should I just keep the car?
I'm still have a a few more years left on the loan and don't want to shell out more down-payment to get into an M3.

I get tired of cars so quickly....Ideas?

Talk me out of not getting an M3.
I'd do this deal if my payments were under $700.00 no money down using only my G as trade-in...

I'd be giving up my dvd headunit and bragging rights of owning a 350GT/Skyline.

Your thoughts?

First thought is to sell it private party instead of trade-in so you can get more money. 2nd thought is that the M3 is a step-up from the G35 so if you do get the ///M, you will not be dissapointed. You will probably still miss the G, but the M3 has a nicer interior, bigger trunk and backseat, and more power. I made some comparisons here, and Finiti35 has some good comments too. https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...hlight=goodbye

There are tons of tuner parts out there for M3's but they are more expensive than the G's. You will have a hard time putting a double-din or deep headunit in the dash. it's doable but people on e46fanatics have been complaining.

Haha my M3 novels are all over the board. What can I tell you GYAL8R. I get tired of cars quick, and I'm talking about less than 6 months quick. The M is something else, it's unlike any other car I've ever driven. The longer you own it, the more addicting it gets. If you're buying used, just do your homework and decide what color/options you really want if you're really picky. The M comes with a lot less standard equipment than the G.

Yes it is very doable but depth might be the issues cus the Vent, but if you put a single din to low part of the D/D, it should be ok...check out over at M3fourms/S4play's thread

Hey BOB, please dont get too upset about recent meet's trun out, things will pick up soon, just need to keep trek along but I can understand your frustrations and eventho I'd contributed it some ... Many G35'er have made that jump recently and I dont think anyone of them regrets doing so, and since you work around my neck of woods, if you would like? I can come by and have you try it out

Ooooops...Is this another pro M3 posts?(*cough* *cough* Igor )

Leather seats are now standard, but let's say he's looking at preowned (2005 and older). Xenons, leather, power seats, heated seats, 6CD, alarm come standard on the G, not on the M3. You have to pay extra for them. The Premium package on the M3 doesn't include the upgraded sound, or homelink, unlike the G. You have to pay extra for them. The G35 6MT comes with 19" standard, you have to pay $1750 extra for them on any M3 regardless of transmission. Another thing, SMGII is a preeetty expensive option. The M3 has a pretty hefty option list, unlike Japanese cars. You can easily rack up $15k in options if you want a fully loaded one.

i like the fact that BMW offers 4/50,000K free maint. package. my first car was an 83 318i going back to my high school days....my cousin just picked up an M5 this weekend...Silver...very nice...which is what got me thinking...

Got an appt with SF BMW this sunday for a test drive....I'm loving the styling of the M3 just saw a white one today at my gym...damn...i thought I was gonna keep this car but, living in the city and the hills...the quality is good but not great...i've had 2 G35's already so that's why I'm considering a BMW.

How's the maint or reliabitliy on the M3's?

Shane I might have to take you up on your offer...!

Just my input on getting tired with cars so quickly...I haven't had a car that lasted more than a year with me NOR a car that lasted more than 20,000 miles. I get bored by having the same car for such a long time..i don't know it's just me. SO..my suggestion is.. Sell the car and move on! You will not regret getting rid of your G! (not unless you downgrade)

Oh yeah.. If you don't plan on selling your IP Coupe, I have an Authentic Gialla Grill color-matched just for you =) Let me know!

BTW, if you get bored of cars quickly, you should definitely buy used cars to avoid the extra costs associated w/ new cars.
