The New Honda Civic SI -
Would you down-grade to the SI after owning a G after 2 years?
For the price and what it offers, and the styling, I think it's a great car.
With the high price of gas and expenses of maintaining the G, the SI sounds very appealing...Having owned Legends and Integras in the past, the SI's pricing is very attractive. The Power is decent with many mod potentials, the styling is very sporty and elegant...I've thought about an M3 "way over-priced" but the "SI", if I were to get one, I'd save an extra $300-$500 per month even if I were to pay MSRP.
Would you trade in the G for the SI? Your Thoughts and comments...!
Don't get me wrong, I love the G but it's so costly to maintain...

I did look at the coupe, and it's a good deal for the money. But at the end of the day (or more like a couple years), you still have a honda civic.
I think the next acura rsx will be even nicer but I didn't want to wait.

Bobs,
If my G was becoming a financial hardship or I needed to save for a good opportunity . . . Yes, I would sell the G in a heartbeat. If the previously said reasons and comes to light, I would buy a used beater rather than buy another new car. You cannot go wrong anytime you can save a buck.

No way! No how! I got my sedan for $27k. That $7k higher price tag buys A LOT of extra car. I'm not that concerned about the gas mileage difference, since I get lower insurance rates with the Infiniti which offsets some of the added cost.
As a commuter car, I think it would be an excellent choice, as well as plenty of fun to drive . . . If you budget can cut it.

Surely I do, but just for an accord, not SI

I bought a second car and ended up getting a 2006 RSX. For 21k, it's actually pretty nice. It's slightly more sporty than most Civics I've drove, and if you want the S type, it's like 200hp. 110k miles no maintenance (other than oil changes). It's pretty handy for long drives and parking it in places I wouldn't even take my G

The SI is a good second car. Its a good car if its an upgrade. But I would definately not be happy with a civic. Just think: Honda Civic or Infiniti G35? You won't have the same respect that u typically get with an infiniti. Its provides a whole different response in other peoples minds. What would you think if someone pulls up in a Civic, now what about a G35? Once again I still think its a good car but not a good switch from a G. Just my opinion.
