wheel repair in portland

ok, so after 4 years of careful driving, I finally curbed one of my work wheels in the parking garage

Can anyone recommend any repair shops in pdx area? For my other car I fixed it myself with bondo and silver wheel paint, but my work wheels have a polished lip. is there a special kind of bondo or paint I can use?

Funny you mention that... I already dropped my wheel off at Skip's, since he came highly recommended on the benz and bimmer boards my friend is on.

Skip's should help out with that.. I was talking to him when I picked up my wheel. He said that he does rim repairs such as what you described. He even gave me a mini tour of his shop... Cool guy.

I meant to take pictures of the damage, but I forgot... Basically I gouged the wheel right on the polished lip. I was rounding a curve inside a parking structure, and my rear right wheel nailed the curb on the 6th floor.

The gouge itself was probably about the length of my pinky. He originally quoted me $150, but when it was all said and done, he said if I paid cash he'd only charge me $125. So that's how much it costed.

What kind of wheels do you have? If your wheels are painted, I hear it's fairly easy to DIY with some bondo, sanding block, color-match paint, and clear. Since the lips of my wheels were polished with a coating on it, I knew I'd never be able to get it to look right... I was very impressed with Skip's work.
