What's your opinion of Seattle?
so negative guys
it is cold and wet... but not that bad, especially if you like winter sports. mts are so close and easily accessible.
i'm from hawaii (which im sure at the very least compares to socal weather) and got use to it pretty quickly.

Not negative, ask anyone that has moved here what their opinion is. If you ask anyone that has left the area, two very common complaints about the Westside are traffic and weather. I loved explaining to every guest we had this summer that we were having "strange" weather. I didn't want to admit that a high of 64 F is normal August weather.
For winter sports I agree that it is better than Hawaii, but if snow were my passion I would move back to Denver as the number of resorts and length of season can't be beat.
I think the best day in Washington kicks the *** of the best day in CO, PA, or any other developed city in the US (otherwise I wouldn't be living here). You just have to pay for it with nine months of crappy weather.

I've lived in Seattle/Tukwila for 4 years... had to constantly do things indoors like play tennis, stay at home, hang at the malls, stay at home some more and when the sun actually came out, everyone calls each other "Hey, the sun is out! The sun is out!".
Don't get me wrong, Seattle is cool and all, people are friendly, fresh air, but...
it was constantly wet, cold, and for the most part, overcast.
"Seattle averages 158 days of measurable rain and 226 days of some cloud cover per year."

I love the sun and living in Socal, in my opinion, is where I'd rather be.
Again, just my opinion... I have friends that have lived there all their lives and are perfectly happy and used to it, but I guess if you haven't lived in other places in the US, you wouldn't really know what it's like.

i was being a little sarcastic about the "negativity." i was actually going to edit that post to say, "ask me how i feel about this city in a couple of months." don't get me wrong, i like the seasons, and it easy for me to be so "positive" during the summer, but i can't lie... it does get pretty rough in the winters.
either way, experience the city for yourself... come if the job is good. give it a year or so. i think people generally know right away if the city is for them or not.
what speedrave said is true though. when it's sunny, there's a frckn frenzy around here! people generally go home early or don't go to work at all. summers are generally a joke when it comes to working hard.
well from my experince of been down here for 7mo (orgin from so cal.) the winter months sucks its plenty of rain.... but compared to philly im pretty sure u would preffer that over snow? i dont know but its cool around summer time cause the temp. is perfect for me, it never gets hot than 95-100 deg. for a week in july time. then its around 68-85 deg for the rest of the summer.
Things to do there plenty of thing to do a far as being 21+ male cuz the college girls out here WU in north seattle, cool area to be around, but nothing from compared to So Cal. for me atleast IMO.
Business: Plenty of business opp. and cost of living is cheaper (no income taxes taken from ur checks) but high state sales tax (9%).
G scene: i havent seen much G's out here nor tuning shops (like cali) or owners meets (also like cali). i havent met any g owners here
this is all a matter of opinion i tellin u from a vistor stand point.
