Re: Driving School

Must be a kick if the boss keeps coming back. I really don't know what to expect so it will be a total surprise for me. All I know is we can't get tickets! Wahoo!

Re: Driving School

Nevermind, I just got them. They want our headlights taped. There's a speed shop close to where I work. I can buy a roll and we can share if you guys don't have some already. See y'all there.

Re: Driving School

I was going to ask about this at ground school. I wonder if that applies since we have the plastic covering over our headlights. I'll share (and pitch in some bucks) if we need to. I was just going to use blue painters tape but if there's something official...

Re: Driving School

I'll pick some up. It's only like 7 bucks a roll so it's no big deal. See y'all thursday.

Thanks Al. Townsley and I will try not to embarrass you with our AT sedans. : )

Re: Driving School

I'll tell you what. The sedan is no slouch. I used to own one ya know :-). It took me about a month to sell it while I got the coupe. When I would drive it to have people test drive it, I would get a smile on my face. It felt much lighter, more refined, much more quiet, more nimble, and actually quicker off the line. I do think that the coupe is ultimately a little faster. It's like comparing a whippet with a greyhound. The whippet will kick a$$ on a tighter course whereas the coupe will win only if it can really stretch it's legs.

Starting to get excited.

Re: Driving School

I'm getting pretty 'psyched too! I had my 22K checkup yesterday and got all the fluids topped off. Are you guys going to do a ECU reset the night before track day?

geeman49 - can't wait to hear that Stillen exhaust!

Re: Driving School

Al: I remember your sedan days, then you deserted us for that money pit of a coupe! You'll be lawyering forever at this rate. Looking forward to seeing you run and the new grille too.

Townsley: If the roar of power doesn't scare you I think you'll like the Stillen. It should be in it's element at the higher RPMs we'll be running on the track. I love it.

Really I'm not looking to race, I just want to know what to expect of the car in situations closer to its limits. It's funny the car companies putting more and more power into these cars and handing the keys over to anyone with a checkbook. I'd rather have a little more knowledge of the physics of everything before I do something stupid.

See ya tomorrow night.

Re: Driving School

Wow, you guys are making me jealous -- I wish I could have made this one too. You're all going to have a great time. I remember being pretty nervous the night before, but once the day started it was all good. My schedule lately has been lousy, but I have GOT to get back out there at least once before the end of the summer...

Re: Driving School

Cascade is having another driver training course Aug 26-27 and Sep 23-24. I think I'll do one of those. It's a little cheaper at $150 also.
