I'm curious about the design too! If it's a good design I would proudly display it.

Sorry to disappoint guys, but this isn't doable any longer .

The existing club forums were granted permission at a time when the site was much smaller and easier to control.
I'm not completely familiar with the history behind each club situation,
but club classifieds are definitely not in the plan going forward.

It would be pretty difficult to reverse any previous decisions and claw back the existing club classifieds.
Therefore, the existing ones will remain grandfathered in for now.

re: club forums;
Yes, we still allow creation of new club forums,
but it will be evaluated on a case by case situation.

On another note, other methods of identifying regional classified posts are being considered.
It hasn't been completely scoped out yet, so I don't have any details to pass along right now.
I am working on it though.

How are each regional club section evaluated? Doesn't seem fair that some regions have a section to sell things local and others don't. The NW section is easily moderated by Redlude97. I doubt he has to do much here. Adding a section IMHO won't add to his load much? I don't see a problem adding one now and then revamping the whole shebangabang once it's decided.

The other annoying feature is because the marketplace is in it's own section, searching for "threads created by" won't yield threads in that section. Nor does the advanced search allow you to click "the Marketplace" to search. But threads in the normal sections including the regional for sale threads would show up using the normal search feature.

But thanks for the detailed reply. It's appreciated either way.

redlude has little to do here because no one frequents this section anymore. everyone goes to the Z forum for regional stuff.. i think a club would bring more traffic to this section.

link.rough draft

I agree with both posts above. There really is nothing negative about allowing classifieds in the regional forums, as long as they're moderated, which is a given just like any other part of any site. Searching/browsing the general marketplace is very limited because of the VB software.

i think we should just have to follow the same rules as on my350z.com as far as regional "for sale" threads go, or something very similar. i'm sick and tired of going through the market place when everything i would like to buy is "SOCAL ONLY." its really annoying... thanks though for the response, at least we know we're being heard.

Then can we just be allowed to post for sale stuff here until the forum revision happens?

I'd love a local for sale section for the Northwest!
