Today I wanted to polish my head lights. Started with a little corner with the stuff I have to see how it would turn out. As I started I noticed the gap around my passenger headlight was seriously uneven. So I pop the hood to take a look and I realize the top mounting tab is all jacked up. Totally cracked everywhere. I'm assuming who ever owned it previously (I've only had it for about a month) tried to align it without loosening the 2 incredibly difficult to reach bolts and totally trashed the top mounting tab.
As I look into it further, the gap around the hood and fender is off too. Looks like the headlight has been leaning into the fender and pushing it out...
So today I'm shopping for a passenger headlight and looking forward to all the work to fix the ****... Considering getting a pair to send in to clear corners, but damn thats a grip of $...

Speaking of headlight restoration, do those scratch remover things (you can find pretty much anywhere) actually work? I was a bit reckless customizing my headlights a few days ago :\ Is there a special kind that works on lenses only? Let me know, make me a happy dood!

Ummm, there's a good thread for that if you search. If you got some good dings and such, prob start with 800ish and knock out all the dings. You gotta step up as little as possible to like 2200. Then use some polishing compound with a good hand drill with a polishing pad, or a buffer. You can kinda short cut it but it wont turn out quite as good.
Good luck!

I've tryed a few products and the never seem to work never tried the sanding process tho in always fear of messing up but about a year ago I learned that you can clay bar not only your car but your headlights and your windows also, so I've been doing that and it seems to keep em nice and clean.

I'm also terrified of ruining it. It's not too terrible I suppose; hard to notice unless you're actually looking for flaws, in fact xd.
