1st NASA event in the NW
NASA held their first event in the NW this last weekend at Pacific Raceway. Anybody thinking about taking your car to the track should look them up. They are well organized and if you have never been to the track they have instructors for everyone in the HPDE 1 class.
Here's a few laps around the track |
Nice, NASA is awesome.
Haha, what happened to the poor frs/brz between lap 3-4. hope you guys didn't have any incidents :icon43: |
He just bought the BRZ and now needs a good body shop. Rear quarter and door need some work. Don't know how fast he was going but thats around a 60mph corner that he went off on and hit the tire wall
|
Did they talk about it in the driver's meeting after? My guess is that he oversped into the middle right, tried to scrub speed mid corner and ended up over-rotated, hit the brakes and completed his spin.
|
NASA had their 3rd NW event this last weekend at PIR in Portland. Need to see some other G's out there.
|
I think i've only seen one other g at the track before.
I think everyone on this forum is too busy playing dress-up-barbie with the cars to actually drive them. |

I bought my g35 sedan just so I can take it here. I need some work to do until its track ready though. Wish it were stick :(
I took the high performance driving clinic in march just before they repaved the track. It was awesome, got to play in the rain for most of the morning and in the afternoon the track dried out a bit and got to experience both types of conditions. Great instructors at Proformance Racing School. |
Bring your car out to the next NASA event at Pacific Raceway, it comes from the factory ready for the track. Sure you can always make it better but the best thing you can do is get more experience on the track. Sign up for HPDE 1 and you get an instructor for the day.
Here's the link, I will be out there the 14th http://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1642 |
Thanks. Need brakes big time atm. Hope the budget will allow.
|
Here's a lap from my last trip to Pacific Raceway. My season for track days is over, have a couple of Auto-X events left in October. Hope to see some of you out there next year.
|
Mark your calendars

Looking forward to the next season. Just ordered stillen rotors and sway bars. Going to leave the stock ride height for now and just get some nice shocks. Car is in body shop right now. Hit a dog and messed up my front bumper and washer reservoir. Oh and steel braided brake lines. Cannot wait to hit the track!!!
|
Look forward to seeing another G out there

Well, I have the car mostly ready to go. Installed Stillen sways, rotors and pads. Steel braided brake lines. Wheels and tires brand new. Also have a trailer for my car to ride on to the events. Lets hope I have enough money to participate now.... lol
|
What tires did you buy?
|
I had a friend get me a pretty good price on these.
Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus http://tires2.costco.com/product.asp...3-bf9c2dac14f1 |
All season tires are not the best for the track but at least you will get some seat time and enjoy your car. Once you get faster you will want to get better tires and brake pads.
|
Yeah tires are my least favorite upgrade. Expensive. Plus being in the northwest, weather changes quick during the early season for tracks. Thanks for the info. I really want some proxes, they had a set of those on the car I rented from proformance racing school. Crazy grip.

Really hope that I can make it to the track this weekend. Just picked up some 350z coil springs. Installed rears last night. Taking the fronts off tonight and having my buddy take it to work to change the fronts. He has a spring compressor. Just going to run the shocks that are on the car now. Should be enough to get me through weekend.
|
Just registered with login only. Going home after work to get my name in for hyperdrive event.
|
Great, it's a good way to get some seat time without spending a lot I won't be able to make it out to this event but it will be a good introduction to NASA. Hope to see you out at some future events. Have a good time.
