So I bought a 2005 G35c with premium pacakage. As expected, the Bose system sounds like garbage.
Here are my plans:
Upgrade front and back speakers
Ad 1 10" sub (probably using the 4080 box)
Add a 4ch amp for the main speakers
Add a mono amp for the sub

I really want to keep the stock HU (for the looks and the steering wheel controls), but I've heard different people say different things about the HU coloring the sound to make up for definciencies in the Bose speakers. I'd really like to talk all of this over with an installer who has some experience with the G35 to see what they think. Any suggestions?

Also, I'm not looking for top quality components - more like Polk, Infinity, MTX - as I don't want to spend a ton of $$ and don't really need audiophile quality sound.

I'm not an installer but this piece is a great idea if you want to keep your stock HU and add amps and speakers. Best of all..it's cheap and extremely effective.
