It does look like DLP to me also, thats where I got confused. At first I thought he meant "LED Projetion" which is a new breed of DLP's. Since he got this years ago I'm sure he meant LCD PROJECTION. Thing is though, it doen't look quite flat panel to me, but this could be because it's one of the first gen's.

There WAS LCD Projection, which is what spawned DLP. Essentially the same thing, DLP allows for a thinner television. The big question to ask is how long have you used this TV? These have a bulb in them that burns out over time, and the bulb is ~400 to replace.


I have a Sony Grand Wega 55" rear LCD Projection TV, and yes they do come in 50" as well. This looks like it is slightly newer than mine, but I would say somewhere in the 7-800 range would be a great price, as I was looking at selling my 55 for roughly 900-1000
