Improvement over brushing...
Depends on your dexterity and if you truly brush the posterior as well as it needs.
Some people wouldn't need this at all, but a lot of my patients both young and old benefit from it simply because they can't or don't brush that well in the posterior.
The remote model is just because you can't see the screen on the brush WHILE you are brushing. So you can see the time, you can see the quadrant in which you are currently brushing - it's just motivation for those who need the extra push to reach the full 2 minutes of brushing. This brush also has a pressure sensitivity module that won't let you brush too hard and cause toothbrush abrasion (the little notches on teeth at the gumline) and gingival recession.
General knowledge:
Even with manual brushes, you should brush for 2 min..
If you floss WELL ENOUGH, you only NEED to floss once a day

I use the same brand, but not as expensive. So far, I really like it. The head usually lasts pretty good, but I change mine out very often, once every 2 weeks or so.
