It is 99.9% new. I've only had it for about 1 month, and used as an external only with very few write cycles. Never got around to installing it before I sold my Macbook (which is good, cuz the new one came out today! but with $1999 for an i7, I will wait for a while).
It is the LATEST Gen 2 in 34nm, in RETAIL PACKAGING, which means you also get the 3.5" to 2.5" adapter for desktop users.
