thats not so true. I understand photoshop(i am an art teacher yo)...but your camera captures pure colors that are richer than some of the other cameras the same day. I say the original of bens before the PS edit.

Each camera takes the same shot yes, simular colors, but some (like cannons) take bold colors naturally as to the camera itself. I was just saying I liked the way his capture the color.

while i do agree that his DSLR takes a better picture than a point and click like mine, Arnab's photoshop skills are pretty pro and account for a large majority of the enhancements in those pictures...

Well it's not all PS, I can assure you that. When I first started shooting, even with a lot of PS, shots didn't turn out as I wanted. It took a while to learn how to both use the camera properly and PS to yes, exactly, enhance the work.

However, a proper picture is still needed to make a good shot, PS cannot fix a bad picture most of the time. Most of the colors that seem richer are actually just a better understand of exposure and how to use it to my advantage knowing what I can and cannot salvage/improve in PS. But absolutely a DSLR is a huge advantage especially a Nikon or Canon.

I am not denying the quality of the DSLR cameras. Of course they will be superior in all sense. But Tom, Point and shoot cameras can be pretty awesome as well. And there is a difference in each of the quality. I have had a fuji, kodak, canon and sony. The canon and sony out of the box were able to create better pictures that the fuji and kodak. By better, I am discussing not just the quality of the pic, but the color balance and softness of the image. Below are some examples what I am talking about.

And Tom, I saw the Raw photo on Arnabs camera and the final one as well. If you were to take the same shot, same settings with different brand cameras, the color in itself would be different...different values of red and blues in particular. Each can be adjusted through settings, but there will still be a difference.

My canon I lost was a fantastic camera. The quality of the pics (as in the richness of color without photo editing) was top notch.

Car examples...with my point and shoot, no photoshop.

Here is a shot of Mila in my car...just notice the color balance and how it captured the light. No photoshop here either.

Hopefully you can start to understand what I am talking about...regardless, I am still standing behind Arnab's Camera for our photoshoot!

Sure I understand that no lens is the same between manufacturers, just saying that DSLRs are better designed to take advantage of a lot more than point and clicks.
